Interludes 2025

Interludes is David Mankin’s second solo exhibition with &Gallery in Edinburgh - 6th September - 1st October 2025. The exhibition included 25 new works on canvas, wood and paper.

Walking and immersing himself in the landscape is where his process begins. Thoughts unravel amongst the beauty of nature unlocking memories, feelings, emotions. Sensory pauses. Interludes. Spaces where connections are made charged with the rhythms, textures and moods of the coast. These works do not seek to describe the Cornish landscape, but to feel it, to immerse the viewer in its elemental presence. Each piece become visual interlude - an abstraction of the landscape’s mood rather than its form. A place for the viewer to pause, reflect, unearth meaning and memory.
