What you'll learn
Remembering in Paint takes you on a transformative journey from the landscape to expressive abstraction. Filmed in David’s studio and across four stunning locations throughout Cornwall plus live interactive sessions at one of his sell-out in-person Remembering in Paint abstract landscape courses with Coombe Farm Studios.
You’ll learn to observe, document, deconstruct, and re-imagine the landscape — then translate those impressions into paintings that feel alive, personal, and emotionally resonant.
Using a powerful, repeatable creative framework, the course helps you:
• Discover your creative core
• Understand your why — what you truly want to communicate
• Work with greater boldness, intuition, and expressive energy
• Build paintings with depth, texture, and gestural mark-making
• Move from observation → experimentation → abstraction → finished work
• Develop a sourcebook/journal that becomes a lifelong wellspring of ideas
This is not just a painting course — it’s a way of seeing, remembering, and reconnecting with the landscape. A springboard to help you develop
your own unique artistic voice
